Nic Salts

How to choose a nic salt e-liquid

Nic salts are 10ml e-liquids made with nicotine salt rather than freebase nicotine. They are usually 50VG/50PG, which suits mouth-to-lung (MTL) pod kits and low-wattage devices with coils of around 0.8 ohm and above. They are not intended for sub-ohm tanks.

Choose a strength

UK nic salts are sold up to the legal maximum of 20mg/ml. Shop by strength: 5mg, 10mg, 11mg, 18mg or 20mg nic salts. Lower strengths are often chosen by lighter smokers or people reducing their nicotine; 20mg is the closest match for heavier smokers switching from cigarettes.

What strength of nic salt should I buy?

Most people switching from cigarettes start on 10mg or 20mg. 20mg/ml is the UK legal maximum. If 20mg feels harsh, try 10mg; if 10mg is not satisfying, try 20mg.

Can I use nic salts in a sub-ohm tank?

It is not recommended. Nic salts are made for low-power MTL pod kits. For sub-ohm tanks, use a high VG shortfill.

Why are nic salts only sold in 10ml bottles?

UK rules limit nicotine-containing e-liquid to a maximum of 10ml per bottle and 20mg/ml strength.

Have e-liquid prices changed in 2026?

Vaping Products Duty of £2.20 per 10ml applies to e-liquids made in or imported into the UK from 1 October 2026. Stamped stock will carry a vaping duty stamp.
